Ever imagine what the Eastman Quad would look like if it was hosting a flock of flamingos? What about a “Floor-is-Lava” obstacle course from Rush Rhees Library to the Interfaith Chapel? Or perhaps a new statue or monument for a new era?

Join Studio X, UR’s hub for immersive technologies, and learn more about the digital world of extended reality (XR). In this 1.5 hour-long hands-on workshop, you will learn the basics of Unity, a real-time creation platform used to build XR experiences, games, animations, and much more. Unity is the engine behind all kinds of experiences such as Pokémon Go, Beat Saber, and the new Lion King movie. You will learn about its user interface, how to manipulate objects in 3D space, and other fundamental concepts. This is a beginner-focused workshop, but all levels are welcome.

Note: In order to participate, you will need to complete the following pre-workshop instructions. Depending on your computer and internet connection, this might take some time and cannot be completed during the workshop.
